The Cuba Study Group is a non-profit, non-partisan organization composed of business leaders and young Cuban-American professionals who share a vision of a free, sovereign, and inclusive Cuba. Founded over twenty-five years ago, we have grown into one of the most respected voices on Cuban affairs — a community of leaders who combine firsthand knowledge of the Cuban experience with the skills, networks, and determination to drive meaningful change.

We are entrepreneurs, lawyers, academics, advocates, and public servants. We come from different backgrounds and hold different perspectives, but we are united by a common conviction: that the Cuban people deserve a future built on freedom, dignity, and opportunity. That shared belief is the foundation of everything we do.

We believe in a nation that provides real opportunities for all its citizens, grounded in respect for individual rights and the strengthening of civil society as a driver of change. We believe that democracy and economic freedom are not abstract ideals — they are practical conditions for human flourishing, and they are achievable in Cuba.

We aim to put our collective experience in leadership skills, problem solving, and wealth creation at the service of the Cuban people.

Our work seeks to build bridges toward a future of self-determination. We focus on ensuring that each individual is the architect of their own destiny, promoting sustainable well-being without external dependencies.

For over twenty-five years, we have worked at the intersection of policy, entrepreneurship, and civic empowerment — supporting the people and ideas that will shape Cuba’s future. We bring together Cuban-American leaders from business, law, academia, and public service, united by a shared commitment to pragmatic, people-centered change. We do not advocate for any political party or foreign government. Our only allegiance is to the Cuban people and to the principles of democracy, human rights, and economic freedom that make genuine prosperity possible.

We facilitate change by applying practical solutions to complex problems, identifying critical barriers and proposing strategic roadmaps that empower citizens. We strengthen independent thinking and entrepreneurship in Cuba, and leverage our global network to connect resources and knowledge that bolster the island’s social fabric. We place leadership and business tools at the service of the Cuban people, with the goal of transforming individual talent into real capacity for generating collective prosperity.

Our approach is rooted in evidence, not ideology. We invest in research, data, and direct engagement with Cuban civil society to ensure that our advocacy reflects the real needs and aspirations of the people on the island. We work across sectors — from policy and law to business and technology — because lasting change requires coordinated action on multiple fronts simultaneously.

We also believe in the power of dialogue. We engage with diverse stakeholders, including Cuban entrepreneurs, independent journalists, academics, and international partners, to build the broad coalitions that transformative change demands. No single organization can move Cuba forward alone — but together, informed and aligned, we can.

Transparency Note: We do not accept funding from any U.S. government sources or their subcontractors, ensuring our total independence and credibility. Every position we take, every initiative we support, and every partnership we pursue is driven solely by our commitment to the Cuban people — never by external political or financial interests.
