Ricardo “Ric” Herrero leads the strategic vision of the Cuba Study Group, a non-partisan organization that brings together Cuban-American business leaders to develop policy solutions that benefit both U.S. national interests and the well-being of the Cuban people.
With nearly two decades of experience, Ricardo is a recognized authority at the intersection of government advocacy, international relations, and philanthropy. His work has been instrumental in shaping regulatory frameworks that strengthen Cuba’s private sector, earning him direct recognition from the Biden-Harris and Obama-Biden administrations.

- Strategic Advocacy: Between 2012 and 2017, he led high-impact campaigns to promote diplomatic and economic ties between the United States and Cuba.

Leadership & Education
A lifelong member of the Council on Foreign Relations and an Eisenhower Fellow, Ricardo also serves as an Advisory Director for the Cuba Emprende Foundation. He holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a B.A. in Business Administration from Florida International University.
Based in Washington, D.C., Ricardo brings the unique perspective of being the son of Cuban exiles committed to building a prosperous future for the island.
