We believe that Cuba’s sovereignty is inviolable and must be respected. However, we hold a fundamental conviction: true sovereignty does not reside in institutions, but in the right of a free people to freely choose their own destiny. Sovereignty is not a privilege granted by the state — it is an inherent condition of every free society, and it must be earned, protected, and constantly renewed by its citizens.
For us, a nation is only fully sovereign when its citizens possess the economic autonomy, independent thought, and the necessary tools to be the architects of their own future. There can be no national sovereignty without individual empowerment. A government that restricts the freedoms of its own people does not protect sovereignty — it undermines it from within.
True sovereignty also requires institutional legitimacy. When a state derives its authority not from the consent of the governed but from coercion and control, it forfeits its claim to represent the nation. Sovereignty, in its fullest sense, demands accountability, transparency, and the active participation of citizens in the decisions that shape their lives.
Our work focuses on strengthening Cuban civil society, reducing external dependencies, and fostering a culture of self-determination. We invest in the individuals, organizations, and ideas that are building Cuba’s future from the ground up — because we know that lasting sovereignty cannot be imported or imposed. It must be grown from within.
We also recognize that sovereignty has an economic dimension. A nation whose people lack the tools to generate wealth, access global markets, or build independent livelihoods is structurally vulnerable — dependent on external actors and internal power structures that serve the few at the expense of the many. Economic freedom and national sovereignty are inseparable.
We believe in a Cuba where prosperity and freedom are the engines of a truly sovereign and inclusive nation. That Cuba is not a distant aspiration — it is a practical goal, achievable through sustained civic engagement, structural reform, and the collective determination of a people who have never stopped fighting for their right to self-determination.
